Advisory Board members are selected, usually annually, from persons nominated by Advisory Board members, the Blackburn Leadership Team, or the Administration of The University of Alabama. The Leadership and Development Committee in conjunction with the Executive Committee will review and present nominees for consideration to the Advisory Board for a vote by the full board. In keeping with its values, the Advisory Board strives to be a diverse body, representative of the state of Alabama, that can ensure “the Blackburn Institute maintains sufficient civic, business, political, and financial resources to carry out the mission of the institute.”
Those interested in recommending an individual for consideration should complete the online nomination form. Completed nominations received by June 30 will be considered at the fall Advisory Board meeting.
Prospective Advisory Board members are encouraged to review the Institute’s website, Annual Connections magazine, and our recruitment packet. The recruitment packet includes a 2-page summary of the Institute’s vision, mission, values, and curriculum; expectations of Advisory Board members; and a list of current Advisory Board members and their professional affiliations.
