Consistent with the Blackburn value of “networking through the generations,” the Institute hosts several programs each year for the full community to come together to discuss ideas, reconnect with civic-minded individuals, and plan for collective and individual action.

Spring Networking Dinner

Each Spring, members of the Blackburn community gather together for a formal dinner in Birmingham to welcome the new student class and congratulate graduating students who are pinned as Blackburn Fellows.

Summer Networking Events

Students get acquainted with Blackburn Fellows and Advisory Board members in informal regional networking events at locations throughout Alabama and major cities like D.C.

Annual Symposium

This two-day conference brings together Blackburn students, Fellows, Advisory Board members, to hear keynote speakers and learn from respected community leaders doing impactful work in Alabama and beyond.
